UCM Leisure Courses for 2021/22 Launched

University College Isle of Man (UCM) announced that over 200 exciting leisure courses for adult learners are now open for online enrolment.

The newest guide includes information on courses designed to cater for people of a wide variety of abilities and ages, from academic subjects such as personal cyber safety and interior design, to more recreational areas such as acrylic landscape painting and vegan baking.

(Mrs.) Cathy Lord, Leisure Course Manager, said, “Now that we have come out of lockdown, it is a good time to focus on your wellbeing through discovering our exciting range of leisure courses. The courses are not only a great way to meet new like-minded people, but also to learn and develop new skills.”

To encourage island-wide participation and easy access, courses are currently offered at 15 different locations across the island, including Jurby Community Centre, a new location introduced this year.

Cathy added, “Now that online enrolments are available, it’s never been easier to start a course and learn a new skill.”

The updated guide includes a broad range of new subject areas: Bag Making, Beginner & Intermediate Baking, Vegan Baking, Sleep Hygiene, Personal Cyber Safety, Art for Wellbeing, Acrylic Landscape Painting, 2D & 3D Accessories Design, Art & Design for Interiors and French conversation.

The Leisure Guide is available online, at UCM’s Homefield Road campus and libraries across the Island and the JobCentre. Members of the public can also call 648200 to request for a copy to be posted to them.
